ST ANTON

St Anton is one of the world’s best resorts for competent skiers and riders, particularly those with the energy to après-ski as hard as they ski. If you want to, you can party from 3pm to 3am. Good luck! Although it is commercialized and busy, St Anton is full of character, with its traffic-free main street lined by traditional-style buildings. St Anton squeezes into a narrow, partly wooded valley and the scenery becomes more impressive as you ride up the lifts, either towards the dramatic Valluga, or across the valley up to Rendl, which opens up a splendid panorama.

Resort Information

Accommodation

This is, by a wide margin, Austria’s catered chalet capital but many are not suited for Corporate Ski Trips. We recommend around 12, accommodating between 10-20 guests each but importantly not including Austrian Twins or more than 1 Double. As the resort covers such a large area, location is very important in St Anton and there are pro’s and con’s to several Chalets. There are a number of excellent hotels, although finding the ones that will take 3 or 4 night bookings is the key.

Skiing

St Anton is well suited to good, adventurous intermediates rather than beginners. As well as several testing pistes, you will be able to try some of the ski routes in the Valluga bowls. For example, the run from Schindler Spitze to Alpe Rauz is very long (over 1000m vertical), varied and ideal for good intermediates. The real plus to the area now though is, following the construction of the Flexenbahn Gondola this summer, St Anton is now linked to Lech & Zurs without the need for buses .

Apres Ski/Nightlife

Only one word adequately describes the Apres Ski in St Anton – legendary! St Anton’s bars rock from mid-afternoon until the early hours, starting with the world famous Mooserwirt or Krazy Kangaruh getting the on piste party off with a bang. At the bottom of the main slope is Base Camp or the Fang House in Nasserein, whilst in town there are Murrmel, which rocks every evening. After dinner, Piccadilly, Anthony’s and Bar Cuba offer dancing and great atmosphere until late.
