ROYAL ASCOT 2020
16th – 20th June 2020
The inaugural Royal Ascot meeting took place over 300 years ago in 1711, since which time it has evolved into the epitome of both world class racing and high fashion and is arguably the premier racing event in the world. The Royal Meeting is inundated with Group 1 races and glamorous spectators and, with over £5m in prize money, it always attracts the best horses, trainers and jockeys as well as the rich and famous from all walks of life. A highlight each day at 2pm is the Queen’s Procession as she arrives on the course in an open Landau via Windsor Great Park, accompanied by other Royals and their guests.
The Facilities
The Ascot Village
Positioned directly opposite the main Grandstand, The Ascot Village makes the perfect base for an exquisite day of hospitality. Boasting unrivalled views from a private viewing area, which is situated adjacent to the Winning Post, guests will feel immersed in all of the days racing action and acquire possibly the best view of the Royal Procession.
PLEASE NOTE – Village guests no longer have access into the main side of the Grandstand. Few guests take advantage of this and therefore the Ascot Authority decided to dispense with this option from the 2019 meeting onwards.
Royal Ascot Pavilion
With sweeping views across the Plaza Lawns towards the Parade Ring and South side of the Grandstand, this notable building combines the heritage and elegance of Ascot.
The Ascot Pavilion offers racegoers delicious menus and a lively atmosphere.
Lawn Club
The Lawn Club is a two-tiered facility located at the east of the Grandstand overlooking the track.
There is an elevated decked terrace overlooking the home straight to view the Royal Procession and all the racing action.
The Gallery
Offering formal yet relaxed dining, a light summery setting and great views of the track. The menu will showcase a blend of classic recipes, modern techniques and theatrical twists. This modern track-facing venue is located just 300 metres from the Winning Post. A private veranda affords guests clear, elevated views of the Royal Procession and racing action along the home straight.
Furlong Restaurant
The Furlong Club is housed in a bespoke marquee in an exclusive setting at the east end of the Grandstand, before the Winning Post. There is an exclusive private terrace, with plentiful seating and uninterrupted views of the finishing straight; a wonderful vantage point for all the action.
